FBI Agent Arielle Thompson can’t believe her new assignment.  She is to take down a rouge vampire who has gone on a citywide killing spree frenzy.  Although Arielle has worked for the special FBI subdivision called the Paranormal Investigation – Code name Shadowguard – for the past seven years, she has never encountered a real life, blood sucking vampire.  Everyone knows that vampires are a myth.  Well, with the evidence of the latest series of murders, it seems that the myth has become a reality.  Now, Arielle is on a quick, deadly hunt to find the vampire killer before it strikes again.  However, before Arielle can dig too deeply into her investigation, she finds herself imprisoned and marked for death by the very vampire that she has been chasing.  Before the evil vampire can make her his next victim, Arielle is saved by a drop-dead gorgeous vampire who claims to be in pursuit of the same malicious murderer.

Can Arielle trust a vampire, who simply calls himself “Jackson”, to aid her in capturing the malevolent killer before the world learns of its existence?  And, more importantly, what is she to do about the strong attraction she feels for Jackson?

The Twilight Deception is an edge-of-your-seat suspense thriller that is sure to leave you breathless.  From start to finish, The Twilight Deception is jam-packed with action, danger and excitement.  The plot moves at an intriguing swift pace and before you know it the dramatic conclusion will be drawing to an end.  Arielle has a kick-butt type of personality and showcases great feminine power with her ability to quickly take down the bad guys without hesitation; whereas, Jackson is a very strong-willed, deeply compassionated and sexy-as-sin type of vampire who I couldn’t help but fall in love with.  As the quest to eliminate the wicked vampire intensifies, so does the heat between Arielle and Jackson.  As can be expected with two very pungent characters, the love making scenes between Arielle and Jackson are intense and passionate.  I found The Twilight Deception to be a wonderful start to Elisabeth Drake’s Shawdowguard series and I can’t wait until the next exciting installment.
