Jain Roberts
crashes out of a cryogenic freeze on an icy mountain. Naked and in
grave danger of freezing to death, she dreams of a huge, bear of a
man making her warm again. When Jain finally wakes up, she’s
dismayed to realize that her spaceship has crash landed 500 years
into the future on a planet with shape shifting bears and she is now
the property of their alpha bear, Kesuk.
Kesuk knows
that while he rescued Jain from freezing to death in the snow and
ice, she is supposed to be his slave until such a time as her debt
to him is repaid. Not intending to become involved with her,
Kesuk’s good intentions swiftly turn to lust when she seems to
desire him as much as he desires her. Vowing to send her on her
way, Kesuk doesn’t realize that his future lies with Jain, whether
she repays him or not.
Never having
read about bear shape shifters, I was at first leery that such a
story would appeal to me. Three pages into
In Ice, my fears were for naught and I settled in for
an extremely wonderful and totally captivating story. I love how
the author made the characters playful as well as sexy. I thought
their emotions realistic and Kesuk’s agony over sending Jain away
even made me teary eyed.
In Ice
is a captivating read. I found myself enjoying it very much and I
am anxious to see what Ms. Jordan pens for her next novel.
