Asked to help judge five newly turned
female vampires, Charlotte can almost understand what drove
them to kill their maker. These ladies were turned against
their will, just like she was. Which gets Charlotte to
thinking about the lack of a vampire structured society.
Vampires need to understand that there are consequences to
their actions.
As she brings this up to the group of
vampires present at the Midnight Saloon, Charlotte sparks a
debate with none other than Daniel Mancuso. He is a known
playboy. Charlotte, being a CEO of her company, quickly tries
to dispel anything the handsome vampire has to say. But the
other vampires agree something needs to be done to make
vampires accountable. Charlotte finds herself and all the
other vamps invited to Daniel’s extravagant home for a summit
to discuss the issues. Just what Charlotte didn’t want.
Charlotte and Daniel debate, yet somehow
they must agree on some form of society. As their tempers
flair, so does their rising passion for one another.
The Scent of Rain is a
wonderful story in the Midnight Dream Girls series. These
vampires are not your typical bloodsuckers, but are unique and
exciting all on their own. Charlotte and Daniel definitely
have a tough relationship and I wish they had been together
more. All in all The Scent of Rain was a great
read and part of a series I will continue to pursue. |
