Sky Jackson is a psychic.  The police have asked for his help solving a case where five gay men have been murdered.  When he gets to the precinct, Sky comes face to face with the love of his life.  Eleven years ago Sky lost his virginity to Rafael Ferguson, and Rafe is the detective on the case.

Trevor Morrison has been infatuated with Rafe since high school.  Trevor been waiting for the opportunity to get to him, and the time has come.  He won’t let anyone, including Sky, get in his way anymore.

Sky is an interesting guy and Rafe is sexy, but a little aloof.  Essence has good suspense, a twisted killer and a tender romance.  It’s a good story.
