Robin Fitzvitry is the Earl of Huntersdown.  He was traveling around Northern France when he ran into a swearing nun.  Curiosity got the better of him and he had to know what could possibly make a nun swear.  Robin finds himself helping the wary stranger, claiming her as his sister, but his feelings for her are anything but brotherly. 

Petra d’Averio has been living in a convent since her mother died two years before.  Now she is trying to get to England to find her father, a man that does not know she exists.  Petra is also running from a man that wants her for a mistress.  She is glad for Robin’s protection, but who is going to protect her from the charming rake?

A Lady’s Secret is a splendid adventure filled with wonderful characters.  Jo Beverley has a way of writing that draws you right in and you don’t want to put down the book until you have read straight through to the end.  The characters feel real, though they have much bigger adventures. I must admit I was looking forward to reading this book and I was not disappointed. I Joyfully Recommend it.
