Being in love with someone you can’t
have is torture, but to experience what it’s like to be with
that someone you love only to find he’s to marry someone
else is a fate worst than death. This is the plight of
Squire Duncan. Duncan is in love with his knight, Sir
William, he never believed William to be interested in men
until William showed him otherwise. With William commanded
by the king to marry another, Duncan knows he cannot remain
his squire and watch him love someone else.
The Squire is an entertaining story. Duncan
is sweet and quite naïve. It’s very understandable why
William feared he would be taking advantage of Duncan if he
pursued his interest in him, but I’m happy he got over that
and pursued him anyways. Readers who enjoy historical
stories with an erotic twist should pick up The Squire
