After a
nasty break up with her boyfriend instigated by her
extremely assertive personality and future promotion, as
well as his own insecurities as a man, Taniea Onyx snatches
up the opportunity to travel to China for two weeks of
training for her new position. When she meets Michael Shen,
Taniea proposes a brief fling while she’s in town with no
strings attached.
Will things
get too hot and heavy between Taniea and Michael? And if
love blooms, can it survive the 15 hour flight distance?
I
particularly enjoyed reading Asian Spice for
different reasons. It was fascinating to read about a young
Black businesswoman in this type of setting. Plus, stories
featuring Black women and Asian men are popping up more.
What’s inspiring is that publishers are expanding their
horizons with different pairings.
Taniea is
pure sass and intelligence. She was a breath of fresh air
because she always spoke her mind and was a lady. Michael
compliments her perfectly because he’s charming and laid
back. His courtesy and respect for her made me smile.
The sexual chemistry is a very nice touch to the story. Ms.
Littlejohn is quite skilled at describing how well things go
between the sheets for these two, and out in the city. What
I found most enjoyable was simply the way Taniea and Michael
were portrayed, and that says a lot for her insight. |
