Years ago Artis Kent and Khristopher ‘Kris’ Knight were the best of friends, but time and simple life choices pulled them in opposite directions and they lost touch with each other. 

Artis has followed Kris’s racing career for years, thrilled for his successes and holding close the secret crush he’s had since they met.  A friend surprises Artis with tickets to an upcoming race featuring Kris.  When they see each other after the race it’s as if time has rewound itself.  Their passion is explosive and mutual, but the price would be high if Kris were outed.  Kris may be willing to throw caution to the wind, however Artis has no intention of destroying his lover’s career.  True love means making those tough decisions, no matter the consequences. 

Sacrifice for the sake of love is featured in A Knight at the Speedway.  The main characters are such opposites; Artis is thoughtful and tranquil while Kris is a total whirlwind daredevil and emotionally dying inside from living a lie for so long.   There is one pivotal scene between them that is somewhat abrupt when certain declarations are made which takes away from an otherwise enjoyable story.  Nevertheless, A Knight at the Speedway is a good story with a lovely romantic bang at the finish line.
