“China Doll” by Sunny
Rand hasn’t really felt alive for a
long time, but it’s time to wake up to life and the first
thing that Rand is craving is the soft and sensual contact
that he can only get from a woman. Anna has been hiding for
the last twenty years, but life has a way of changing you
plans… As Rand and Anna intersect sparks fly, but will it
burn out or last for a lifetime?
“China Doll” is an interesting
narrative by Sunny as it has a different pace from the
expected. “China Doll” is a story that encompasses
lassitude, sensuality and emotion to create a feeling of an
old-time romance.
“Tempted” by Jami Alden
Lauren lusts after Tony in ways that a
best friend should never even imagine. However, when a
family party requires that Lauren come up with a partner to
pretend to be her boyfriend, Tony comes to her rescue. But
will they be able to keep it all a pretense or will their
desires rage out of control?
“Tempted” follows the well-established
storyline of best friends becoming lovers. As is typical of
these scenarios, Tony is a player that “sees the light”
after spending some time in Lauren’s arms, while Lauren is
the tomboy that does not appreciate her own sexual allure.
All in all, while the story and characters follow
predictable patterns to reach the expected conclusion
“Tempted” is a very steamy read that will entertain you.
“Hot Wired” by Valerie Martinez
Lola has come to San Francisco for the
summer to have one last fling before she begins her
professional life as a teacher. But as Lola is on the prowl
for a good time between the sheets she finds that some
Princes are frogs and some frogs can really be Princes. But
which one is she getting?
“Hot Wired” is one raunchy tale about a
Latina girl defying the traditional virginal role to
experience all the carnal pleasures to be had. Lola is
flighty and hard to relate to as she spends all her time
looking for sex and picking up men that are of dubious
value. Be warned that this story is really hot and bawdy
and has a debatable HFN outcome.
Skin on Skin is a collection of tales whose
female leads range from the girl next door to the hot chica
you envy at the pub. All three stories are undeniably
erotic, moving from sweet and romantic to raunchy and
lusty. It must be noted, however, that none of these
stories really shine or create a craving for more of the
characters. Also, “Hot Wired” has a dubious outcome that
might not necessarily be interpreted as happy-ever-after or
even happy-for-now. Taken all together Skin on Skin
is an indifferent collection of stories that will serve as a
distraction, but not necessarily engrossing. |
