Carrie Martin-Salem returned home to Mesquite Creek to pick up the pieces of her life after her racecar driver husband died in a crash on the track. Carrie walked away from the racing circuit, never to look back but her husband's teammate and best friend, J.T. Sims, isn't so easy to forget.

J.T. has been in love with Carrie for a long time, even when she was married to his best friend. After Carrie became a widow, he stayed away to give her time to grieve but time's up because J.T. is through waiting.  Now he needs to convince Carrie that they belong together.

J.T.'s brand of convincing involved lots of loving but Claire had issues left over from her marriage to sort through that couldn't be solved by sex.  Committing to a relationship with another racecar driver knowing what could happen on the track and off took a lot of courage on her part.  Killer Curves was one race where there were no losers.
