It is the year 1718, and John Porter’s wife was abducted by Edward Teach more commonly known as Blackbeard the Pirate.  Determined to get her back at any cost, John boards Blackbeard’s vessel and rescues his wife Hannah from the pirates clutches.  Desperately he tries to nurse his wife’s tattered body but all his attempts are fruitless as he watches his Hannah die in his arms.

In the distant future Claire cannot help but wonder who the man is in the mist that is watching her from the distance?  Can he be a ghost?  Somehow John Porter has found a portal to travel through time and he is convinced he has found his Hannah once again.  Together they will travel through time and retrieve Blackbeard’s Chalice, a significant object that holds the key to their love and a curse they must undo.

Readers beware, for The Curse is one story you cannot miss!  I applaud Ms. James’ vivid imagination and her exceptional ability to weave her flavor into this enchanting nautical legend.  Romance, action and pirates, this story has it all!  I look forward to reading this author’s future book offerings and cannot wait to see what adventures are in store in book two of her series.
