Paramedic
Dirk is feeling the loss of several patients when he gets home
and finds his lover gone. That is the final straw, so he
takes a few weeks off to recharge. While hiking in the
mountains, he accidentally stays out after dark and a park
ranger comes looking for him. He finds Ranger Wayne Barlow
very attractive, and Wayne seems to feel the same way about
him. Has Dirk finally found the lover and friend he wished
for?
From
the Heavens: The Star is an enjoyable tale of
finding love and happiness when you least expect it. Both
Dirk and Wayne are well-crafted, sympathetic, and realistic
characters. Dirk was completely exhausted, mentally and
physically, at the beginning of the story. All he wanted to
do was get his head together so he could go back to work.
Meeting funny, sexy Wayne changed the plan a bit, however, and
I really liked the way this one turned out. Vic Winter’s
story is sweet, funny at times, and just the thing for anyone
who’s ever been burned out and in need of a little break! |
