Tatiana Branigan is an FBI profiler and a well know author.  She is also the victim of a serious crime and for the last ten years has had a stalker.  One of the first crimes of this stalker destroyed her marriage ten years ago.  Even believing her husband would never want to see her alive again, Tatiana has always been faithful to him.  One night Tatiana comes home after an awards celebration and is confronted and hurt by her stalker.

Von Branigan has lived a solitary life since kicking his wife out of his life and effectively ending their marriage.  When Von receives a call one night that Tatiana has been badly hurt and needs him, Von quickly goes to the hospital.  After Von finds out that Tatiana will be okay with just a bit of tender loving care, Von insists that she comes back home.

Von and Tatiana have a lot to work though and it is a slow give-and-take learning experience for both of them.  Von finds out some things he just didn’t listen to when it mattered the most to Tatiana.  Actually, Von learns about this new Tatiana that he never knew existed.  Tatiana has never stopped loving Von and is willing to work with him in the hopes of capturing the love and marriage she lost years before.  Tatiana has figured out who her stalker is and knows that it is going to be a major blow to Von when she tells him.  Von is first in disbelief and finds that his trust in Tatiana brings other things to light and makes him believe her.  With the help of the police and officials in their area, Von and Tatiana set up a sting for the stalker, but will it be enough to catch him red handed or will he destroy Tatiana once and for all?

A Hunted Heart is a very finely crafted romantic suspense that is also a story of love and belief in your partner.  Tatiana had experienced the worst thing a woman can and then lost her marriage.  However she had enough belief in herself to pull herself up and make a pretty fulfilling life for herself.  Von thought he had it all until some pictures led him to not trust his wife and he sent her away.  I was with Tatiana the entire time while she relived her past experiences and I had to give Von the benefit of a doubt as he tired to work his way though everything he was learning about the real truth of the pictures and Tatiana’s life since then.  A Hunted Heart shows that stalkers can be well known to the victim and that there can be more than just one victim to every crime.  I found both an excellent romance and suspense while they tried to capture the stalker.  Lovers of J.J. Massa will not want to miss A Hunted Heart and if you haven’t experienced one of Ms. Massa’s books yet, this is an excellent place to start.
