Practical, logical Melani Cantor is
covering her best friend’s wedding to the “Pirate King” for
their small hometown newspaper. She is also writing a series
of articles about Ahoy Matey, the pirate theme park
owned by Ellie’s fiancé. When Melani meets a well
built, well-endowed, very wet pirate, Practical Melani takes
a backseat to Wanton Melani and the heat level spikes.
Royce McKenna, lawyer turned pirate and
part owner of Ahoy Matey, very much likes what he
sees when he helps Melani out of her costume and he wants to
see more. But Melani is determined to stay away from him.
She doesn’t sleep with men she has just met. So Royce does
what any good pirate would do—he takes what he wants.
The Pirate Wench is a modern day pirate tale.
I have to admit that I was expecting a historical romance
when I read the title. I was just a tiny bit disappointed
when I realized it wasn’t….but not for long. I was
pleasantly surprised with the flirty, fun tone of the story.
Along with overcoming past hurts and present
misunderstandings, Melani and Royce deal with the heat of
growing feelings and the fun of letting go. But when all is
said and done, what’s a pirate wench to do? Why, what any
good pirate would do—she’ll take what she wants. |
