Being a fireman for as long as he has, Dix knows all too well the rush and surreal feeling that overcomes a person who's lived through a fire.  Some people need convincing that they didn't lose themselves along with their material items, so when he runs into the college kid Rob who lost everything just that morning, Dix knew immediately he needed proof that he was still alive.  Taking Rob back to his place, Dix was more than willing to help him with that.

Rescue Me was a sweet and satisfying story written in less pages than my grocery list.  Dix was good at putting out fires, especially the ones he start in his own bedroom.  He didn't tease or pretend to not understand what Rob needed, he gave Rob good hot sex and allowed Rob to feel he was still alive.
