Parker
is on his own for the first time since he and Matt got
together. Matt has been kidnapped and Parker is doing
whatever he can to find him and save him. The odds are
against him. For one, they are in a foreign country with
very little help from the Embassy, and two, Parker’s one
hope is a Sierra Leone street gang lead by a sadistic
bastard who asks a very high price of Parker in exchange for
his help. The position the gang leader puts Parker in
brings up bad memories from his past and he has to fight
inner demons as well as the outer ones in hopes of finding
Matt in time and alive.
This series gets better and better. Diamonds in
the Rough keeps the intensity going from the
previous book and kept me on the edge of my seat. The
glimpse into Parker's past was rough and sad, but it
explained why he joined the Marines. I felt for him and the
fact he had to deal with these memories on top of Matt being
missing. Matt and Parker definitely showed how much they
care for each other and that they are willing to sacrifice
anything for the other to be safe. Diamond in the
Rough is a great read, but I strongly suggest
reading the prequel first in order to get full enjoyment
from this installment. |
