Carissa Evans has been betrayed by her fiancé and deceived by her mother.  As she struggles to absorb all that is happening around her, she meets her father's friend, Jake Hall, again and notices just how attractive he is.   Cari's father owns a bookstore and Cari is willing and eager to deliver Jake's book personally.  One thing leads to another and Jake and Cari become intimate.  There are many more surprises in store for Cari, some unpleasant and some very nice.

Family Secrets is a tender romance surrounded by many betrayals.  Jake is a wonderful man and Cari is a lovely girl.  The feel of this story is a bit old fashioned.  The passion between Jake and Cari is hot at times and sweet at others.  Family Secrets is a nice story with a nice ending.
