Jaleesa has enough complications in her
life without adding a new relationship into the mix. First
off she is maintaining a full-time job during the day while
attending college at night. If that isn’t enough, she lives
with her father who spends most of his waking hours drunk
complaining about any – and everything. And, to top that off,
her best friend is determined to keep Jaleesa in the middle of
her on-again/off-again relationship with her boyfriend. So
why is Jaleesa sitting in her Spanish 101 class fantasizing
about the blond haired, blue-eyed hottie named Luke Dorman.
Talk about a social taboo – she’s a black woman dating a white
man. Will Jaleesa follow her heart and take a chance on love?
Dreaming Of Luke was a
sweet, short tale that captured my attention from the very
first page and successfully sustained my interest until the
end. Jaleesa had been through so much at a young age, I was
amazed how she managed to keep it all together. This young
woman had a good head on her shoulders and she was determined
to make a better life for herself. I found Luke to be the
perfect match to Jaleesa. For him, race wasn’t a factor; he
liked Jaleesa because of who she was. The romance between the
couple was passionate, tender and loving. Although the
storyline moved at a quick, rapid pace, I didn’t think that it
took away from the overall plot. Dreaming Of Luke
was a joy to read and I’m looking forward to reading more of
Tressie Lockwood’s writings. |
