American
operatic singer Irene Adler engages in a passionate affair
with English detective consultant Sherlock Holmes while
performing in London. Their careers force them to part
ways. Years later, they meet again when Holmes is hired by
the King of Bohemia. Holmes is uncertain of where he
stands with Irene and must bide his time in order to regain
her trust.
Will this
be the case to challenge him? Or is he feeling something
more?
Sherlock
Holmes is renowned for his crime-solving skills yet proves
to be a master of the amatory arts in Sherlock the
Seducer. I was impressed by the historical research
for the setting, which covered places, people, attire,
food/drink and dialogue. The narrative switches back and
forth between Holmes and Irene, and the tone for each
character sounds and feels authentic. The high voltage sex
is flavored with sophistication and kink. You’ll be pleased
and wonderfully surprised by the fabulous plot twists and
the more than satisfactory ending. This superbly written
variation on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic character will
tease the imagination of fans and non-fans alike. I’m
grateful for the time, energy and love that Suz deMello
poured into this torridly tantalizing tale of sex and wits.
It was certainly time well spent. |
