Sheriff Duncan Kennedy answers a call
of seeing wild animals on one of his townspeople’s
property. Thinking the person was seeing things, Duncan was
ready to leave the area and head back. Hearing shots in the
distance he goes to investigate, and what he finds makes him
doubt himself and his sanity. Just when he thinks he can't
get any crazier, he does the unthinkable. He takes what he
finds home with him and locks her in his wash room.
Aliyah Carter is on the run,
literally. Having spent the last six months of her life as
the cheetah she is, she is almost beyond exhaustion and the
ability to remain in shifted form. Shot by the poachers
hunting her, she has to trust the handsome man who rescues
her. His hands are gentle, and he seems a bit nervous, so
Aliyah nuzzles him and her plan works. He takes her home
with him.
Used to reading Ms. Banks’ contemporary
novels, I was curious to see how she would read with a
paranormal. I thoroughly enjoyed Golden Eyes
and was not disappointed. Amazed is more my reaction. I
felt as if I was right beside both characters experiencing
Golden Eyes with them. Duncan was loyal to
Aliyah and would protect her with his life. Aliyah felt the
same way, and took a chance on showing Duncan exactly what
she was. The results were sensuous and blush worthy!
Golden Eyes was suspenseful and kept me
enthralled. I winced when bad things happened, and then
smiled at the good. Maya Banks has taken shape shifting and
suspense to a whole new level, and the more she writes, the
better she gets! |
