From the moment Gabriel Marx met Alexis
Beaumont attraction has sparked. Despite this, Alexis’s
career goals and a strict “no dating” policy in their
company have been keeping the two apart until Gabe talks
Alexis into the mountains of Sedona, a sacred place where
more than a touch of magic resides. Gabe knows something
she doesn’t; the two are destined to be.
After a single touch of a mystical
force, Alexis soon finds herself moving back and forth
through time, where she’s a party to some tantalizing love
scenes involving a highlander, a British commodore, and a
Union soldier. Will Alexis be able to stop her trips
through time? And if she does, will she take a chance with
fate to be with Gabe?
My attention was immediately captured
by the premise of Destiny’s Touch – what if we
were given multiple chances to “get it right” with our soul
mate? Mackenzie McKade writes an enjoyable tale, and
definitely one delicious hero in Gabe. I, personally, found
that I couldn’t connect with Alexis, perhaps because for
much of the book she was my window into the past. In these
brief peeks, I was captivated by the stories of the three
previous incarnations of Gabe and Alexis and am slightly
saddened there is likely no possibility of a story for their
lives as a commodore and his wife. The ending also left me
with a few questions regarding Alexis’s change in attitude,
which I will avoid for spoiler reasons.
Even with these reservations, I can honestly say I really
enjoyed Destiny’s Touch. Ms. McKade weaves an
appealing tale with a sexy hero (or heroes, depending on how
you look at it), an interesting plot, fascinating subplots,
and luscious love scenes. Destiny’s Touch is
a sizzling good read. |
