Sophie is a shy software designer on a vacation she earned for taking a promotion at work.  She has lost a bunch of weight and is ready to lose her virginity.  Sophie gets more than she bargains for when she runs into an old crush on the beach outside her hotel room.

Derek is on vacation, healing from a car accident that left him scarred and disfigured. He has no other plans for the vacation than to sit and read a newspaper, at least until Sophie looks at him without cringing. 

(Breaking the) Virginity Rules is a great story. It has a sweet lead-up, resulting in a hot ending.  Derek is the gruff, injured type, and Sophie has been through the isolation that he is feeling so she supports him well.  They are believable as a couple that found each other after living in different worlds for so long.
