Patrick O’Rourke is a narcotics cop.  When he is injured in a drug bust gone bad, he heads back to his hometown, Jamesville, to recuperate with his sister Dani and her husband Burke.

Shannon Brooker has recently returned to Jamesville after divorcing her very abusive husband Lance.  When Lance starts making threatening calls to her, she turns to Patrick for help.

Patrick is strongly attracted to Shannon so he agrees to be her bodyguard.  As Lance’s threats become more serious, so are Patrick’s and Shannon’s feelings for each other.

In The Return of Patrick O’Rourke, the danger grows alongside the romance.  Shannon is fragile and skittish, and Patrick is compassionate and gentle with her, yet his commanding presence still shows through.  The Return of Patrick O’Rourke is a good story full of passion and peril.
