Alex loves his job at the emergency veterinary clinic. Not only does it help him learn the things he needs to know to become a vet tech, but it also allows him to use his talent to “hear” an animal’s thoughts and help comfort them.  There is just one drawback to this ability. When the really distressed or abused animals come in they bombard Alex with so much emotion that it overwhelms him.  Still, his life is satisfying, even if he is a little lonely.  But when Dylan, an animal control officer, walks into the clinic, he flips Alex’s switch in a way no one ever has.

Dylan knows as soon as sees Alex that he is going to pursue him, but the man seems to be a little oblivious to Dylan’s hints.  So taking the bull by the horns, he asks Alex out, having no clue what he was getting into.

When Dylan learns Alex’s secret will he freak out like Alex expects or will he take it in the way he does everything else – with a calm and thoughtful manner?

Keeping Karma is an amazingly entertaining tale that packs plenty of animal antics to charm even the most serious minded.  Alex is heartwarmingly vulnerable, yet eager to connect with Dylan, who is a pretty self assured man that pursues what he wants.  The chemistry between these two is off the charts and might have you shedding clothes to keep your temperature down!  Alex’s interactions with the animals are also always amusing and good for a laugh – especially his very vocal pets.  Keeping Karma is a great read for all those who enjoy romances that leave you sighing with happiness at the end.
