Quinn
Padgett is an extreme fighting champion and an alpha
werewolf. His life and freedom are all stolen by a man with
ties to Carri, a woman he suspects might be his mate. Quinn
has never wanted to keep a woman longer than a night; his
feelings for Carri run deeper than anything he’s ever known.
Carri
discovers that her fiancé is not what she believed him to
be. She stumbles onto the truth; that the man she’s been
with all this time is responsible for the brutal death
matches featuring Quinn as the headliner.
The stakes
are high where lives are bartered off for cash. Compassion
and humanity are used as a weakness. Although he has
survived hell, Quinn must keep fighting for his life while
protecting his mate.
Quinn and
Carri come together in a furious clash of electric
attraction. This unlikely pair connects hard with an
audible sizzle, and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s
dramatic, intense and haunting. I needed to see what path
they would take to reach their HEA. This human female and
alpha werewolf bond is brutal, passionate perfection.
Going the Distance swept me up into a
maelstrom of blood, action, and white-heat level sex. The
hunky hero is gritty and dangerous, the dainty heroine is
fragile but courageous, and the bad guys will make you feel
a need to shower. As the kick off to the Death Match
series, it’s promising. My eyeballs were stuck to this
first installment. My biggest hope is that the author will
extend things out a bit more the next go round. |
