Mala has a
gift for taking anything from irreparable and making it
pristine. Her unique talent has made her quite a bundle on
Kaddaka station by putting them on the charter maps. Mala
easily tackles a job with a badly damaged Reflex ship that
requires all her expertise to keep it from crashing. What
she doesn’t know is that she’s being tested, and that her
future partner, Isabi, is on board. Mala has been chosen by
an elite group and it will take all her self-control to
resist the gorgeous Selna. Isabi refuses to take no for an
answer after all they will be working too closely together
to ignore the mutual attraction.
Right on
time for all the Star Trek lovers, Freak Factor
is an out-of-this-world adventure story skyrocketing Viola
Grace to the next tier of writing fame. This new piece is
part of the author’s new Sector Guard Series which has ties
to her Champions series and Terran Times series. I
particularly enjoyed the creative use of technology and the
revolving list of entertaining characters. In this
delightful sci-fi romp, Mala is so accomplished, confident,
and plucky, she could easily tack on an extra side gig with
the X-Men—provided she didn’t bankrupt them with her
uncommonly large living expense. Her romantic/working
connection to Isabi and their sizzling interaction kept me
glued to the pages from the time she first guides his ship
into the spaceport. Mala’s bio is stocked with lots of
amazing and fascinating tidbits, so it will be a pleasure to
view the main course. Isabi has a couple of dazzling
secrets under his sexy sleeve, too.
Freak Factor is a frisky frolic sprinkled with
Ms. Grace’s trademark humor and charm. The ending can only
be described as a teasing mixture of ‘more to come’ and
downright adorably sweet and cute. What more could you ask
