Aaron is in love with Nathan, but the situation is complicated. Nathan is a lot older, heís Aaronís best friendís brother, heís about to move away, and then thereís the fact that Aaron isnít out. For years, Aaron has only lived half his life while pining away for Nathan. What Aaron doesnít know is that Nathan has too, and heís done hiding it.

Held Captive is a poignant story full of angst and longing. It takes a lot of heartache and a long time for Aaron and Nathan to find happiness. Iím not sure whatís worse: wanting true love and being alone, or knowing itís within reach but not being able to touch it. For Aaron and Nathan, the wait is almost unbearable. They have to see each other but hide their feelings, and Aaron has to see the man he loves in the arms of another. Itís heart-wrenching. The ending of Held Captive is as happy as happily ever after gets.
