Together, Nicholas Pardoner, a werewolf, and Alex Finch, a vampire, are private investigators for hire.  Nick is also an antiques dealer and Alex is a pain in the butt constantly trying – unsuccessfully – to get into Nick’s pants.  At the moment the two are tracking a possible demon problem, at a strip mall no less. You just never know where the icky and sticky will appear these days. 

Wicked wit fuels the tale in Ace of Wands.  This fast-paced story narrated by a sarcastic were and a fun-loving vampire is a pleasure to read.  Ace of Wands has a few small potholes in the plot between the discovery of evil and the climax, but the characters make this solid entertainment, regardless.  I’m hoping to hear again from Nick and Alex in the future.
