Attached to the LAPD – Violent Crimes
Unit, Jack Cannon heads a team who handles the worst sort of
crimes. A tip about illegal drugs turns into a major bust of
weapons, drugs, and more for the squad. To celebrate Jack
visits his gym and hooks up with one of the hottest men he’s
ever met, Lucky.
The next assignment concerns criminal
activity with a dirty cop and a known organized crime
family. The Natale family is known to deal in drugs,
prostitution, and everything else illegal. Jack is assigned
to cover the brothers, Louis and Lucio. At one quick glance
Jack recognizes Lucio as the man he knows intimately as
Lucky.
Jack doesn’t know what to do about
Lucky/Lucio. As he works surveillance on the Natale
brothers he wonders how he could have been so wrong about
Lucky. It doesn’t seem real that Lucky could be a stone
cold killer. But Jack is first and always a cop so Lucky is
going down, no matter what Jack feels for him.
Gritty and realistic, LAID
is a strong cop drama with some down and dirty sexual
encounters. Layered, honest portrayals by the main
characters are what make LAID truly
entertaining. The first half of the story is very
enjoyable, but the second half is sometimes difficult to
follow. Some of the twists and turns are confusing which
takes away from an otherwise solid story. LAID
has an authentic cop flavor, back room raunchy sex, and
solid characters. Even with a few potholes, LAID
will hold you until the last page. |
