Carrie Moore left Rhode Island shortly
after prom more than eighteen years ago and has not returned
since. Now she is back in town due to the death of her
Nana. Carrie has inherited all of Nana’s possessions and
plans to sell them and leave before anyone (especially Jack
and Becky) are any the wiser. You see Jack is her former
boyfriend and tore her heart out when she witnessed him
telling her best friend that he loved her and would take
care of her, just minutes after they made love for the first
time.
Unfortunately, her plans are slightly
derailed by her Nana’s pony, I mean Irish Wolfhound, Ellie.
To make things even better the local law enforcement and
animal control officer is none other than Jack. When Jack
realizes that Ellie belongs to Carrie he sets out to have
her finally listen to what really happened all those years
ago. Now that Becky is gone he feels that they deserve
another try at happiness together. But, will he reveal the
truth or will secrets keep them locked in the past?
While Dog-Gone But Not Forgotten has a well
used plot line the thing that makes this story unique is the
addition of Ellie the dog. I loved Ellie and the
shenanigans that Ms. Yates has her embark on. I also
thought the fact that a little supernatural hint was well
placed in making this story work. I found Dog-Gone
But Not Forgotten to be a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud
adventure, and think any dog lover will also enjoy it. |
