Private Investigator Frank McGuire uses
his precognitive ability to solve crimes. This time, he’s
not just seeing the snapshots in his mind though. Frank has
called forth a ghost and it won’t leave him alone. Frank’s
younger lover Rand Brennan isn’t happy about Frank leaving
on assignment to find three missing little girls. And while
Frank’s is gone, Rand is making some big changes in his life
and his relationship with Frank.
In the first Crossroads book,
Frank puts the force in forced seduction, making his and
Rand’s first time a bit uncomfortably realistic, albeit hot.
I’ve gotten to know Frank though, and I get why he did what
he did and why he does what he does. He’s a man of few
words, unless you count growling out his feelings as
communication. The depth of characterization and intriguing
storylines has continuously grown in the Crossroads
series. While the first book was a good story, and the
second even better, Crossroads Showdown
is my favorite. It may be notably short in length, but it’s
big on story. Mysterious, suspenseful, and with a bit of hot
sex, the Crossroads series just gets better and
better. I hope there is more to come with these increasingly
provocative characters. |
