Molly Schlofeld has spent the last five
years of her life in hiding. Testifying against her gangster
father was a hard decision for Molly to make but one that she
doesn’t regret. She has finally made a life for herself and
enjoys her job working in her friend’s florist shop. She
doesn’t allow herself to get close to anyone and while she is
lonely, she knows that she has to stay vigilant to keep
herself and those around her safe. She watches everyone
around her and anything out of the ordinary sets her senses on
overload. That is why she notices Dr. Dave Westfield. She
thinks he is following her but nothing could be further from
the truth.
Dr. Dave Westfield has his own ghosts in
his past. A car accident changed his life eight years ago and
he is afraid to care about anyone again. Unable to stop
thinking about the beautiful girl in the coffee shop, Dave is
ecstatic to see her in his pediatric clinic. Now all he has
to do is convince her to see him again. He doesn’t count on
how quickly he will come to care for Molly and it scares him
to death.
Speaking of death, it looks like someone
is following Molly and they aren’t being nice. Just when Dave
and Molly hit a crossroad in their relationship, they have to
fight for their lives.
What a highly intense and emotional story
Hearts in Hiding was. I quickly became immersed
in Molly and Dave’s world and found myself more than once
rooting for both characters from the sidelines. Dave’s
accident was affecting him in so many ways that my heart broke
for him more than once. I think Molly’s love and fortitude
was his saving grace.
Leanne Karella has written a lovely novel
in Hearts in Hiding. Every time I read a book
from this author I know I am in for a great story. That was
exactly the case with Hearts in Hiding. Next
time you are looking for a heart warming and sensuous read
with intense emotions and suspense, I would suggest grabbing
this baby and settling in for a great read. |
