Blue Murder by Emily Veinglory
Bern is starting to get desperate. His
blood dole hasn’t been coming lately and he is close to
starving. He needs a distraction and he has found it in Kerry
Carter; the one man at the police station that is just as much
a monster as he is. Can a vampire and a werewolf survive
together in a world that wants them gone?
Blue Murder introduces a
world where monsters have to struggle to survive and two men
have to struggle to sort out their feelings for each other. I
loved Bern, and while I didn’t initially trust Kerry, he was a
perfect complement to the vampire.
Things That Go Bump in the Night by
Lucynda Storey
Tyler Crocket is starting to get
desperate. He’s wanted Summer Donaldson from the moment he
met her, but he didn’t think she would be interested in an old
man like him. Now that her relationship with Scot is over and
Summer announces she is leaving, Tyler is willing to do
anything to get one last chance with her. Only, things are a
little more complicated that he ever knew.
In Things That Go Bump in the Night,
Summer has a secret about what she really is, and Tyler is the
only man who can help her. These two tore up the sheets and
left me panting for more.
Walk Through Fire by Laura Baumbach
Caleb Archer is starting to get
desperate. In the past 157 years, he has had to go through
the same agonizing battle, fighting against demons in the hope
that this time he will win. This time he is determined to
win, to save his lover, Andrew Wright, and set him free.
Walk Through Fire is a
touching look at what one man will do for love. I loved Caleb
and was thoroughly entranced by his story. The secondary
characters were interesting and Caleb and Drew were
captivating. I was cheering for their reunion the entire
time.
Devilish Good Time by J.M. Snyder
Jacob is starting to get desperate. He
has finally decided to go to a fraternity keg party, but it
isn’t exactly his scene; until he spies Bobby Montague, the
one person who ties him up in knots. The last thing he
expects is to have Bobby actually talk to him and invite him
out for a drive.
In Devilish Good Time,
Jacob and Bobby set out to have some fun, not expecting the
excitement that is about to ensue. I loved Jacob, his
insecurities were obvious and Bobby was the perfect guy to
pull him out of his shell.
Creatures of the Night, Creatures
of Delight is a collection of tales that
encompasses new love and old, new fears and ancient ones.
Each story is different enough to make Creatures of the
Night, Creatures of Delight interesting, but a common
thread interweaves throughout. I loved this anthology, and
while the last two stories were my favorites, there should be
something for everyone in Creatures of the Night,
Creatures of Delight. |
