Soul Familiar, Alex Layton and his lover ,Tyler Montgomery, are back.  Now mated to each other they have even more obstacles to face as Alex continues to teach Tyler.  Alex and Tyler have to prepare for a magical combat that if they lose, they could lose each other for good.  As they study and prepare circumstances beyond their control come up to derail them

Unpredictable, the second installment in the Soul Familiar series picks up where the prequel left off.  Alex, the story narrator, is just as fun and quick witted as always but Tyler has changed from the previous book.  Tyler has become much more confident and comfortable with his powers and in his relationship with Alex.  I also like the introduction of Bobby, another soul familiar who captures the attention of Alex’s friend Kent.  I really enjoy this series. Alex and the other characters are guaranteed to make me laugh.  Unpredictable is part of a series that should be read in sequential order and I am looking forward to part three.
