Martie is a hospital security guard
with a secret. She is a werewolf, after coming home from a
backpacking trip to Czechoslovakia with a unique souvenir.
Working at night, Martie has a lot of time to observe those
around her, and she has her eyes set on Rhi, a seriously
sexy woman. Rhi makes Martie melt and quiver, and when the
woman asks her to lunch, Martie finds herself accepting
immediately. As the women grow closer, Martie becomes
convinced that she has been discovered and must leave
Seattle for her own good. Martie soon learns that their
lives are intertwined as she never would have expected, and
that Rhi is the only one that can help her.
Night Shift is a
wonderful story about the power of trust. It is an
enjoyable spin on the typical werewolf lore and it is
refreshing to have a female werewolf character that does
everything in her power to avoid hurting anyone. The
characters are well developed and I identified with Martie
from the very beginning. The interactions between Martie
and Rhi are sexually charged and filled with anticipation.
I absolutely enjoyed these characters and I hope we get to
see more of the in the future! |
