Alex Layton is a soul familiar, a very welcomed assistant to a magic practitioner. Tyler Montgomery is an untrained wizard who has a problem that requires a soul familiar’s help. He unknowingly summons Alex.  Tyler is under a protection spell that prevents anyone from getting close to him, which causes a problem during intimate situations.  Alex is all too willing to help, especially when he realizes how attracted he is to Tyler, and he could more than likely be Tyler’s first and only. 

Lucky Dog is a very humorous and entertaining story.  Alex is quite egotistical but you can’t help but love him.  I love how when he’s telling his story he tends to ramble and digress.  Alex is the perfect contrast to Tyler’s shy demeanor. This is really a fun story to read, and I’m looking forward to the sequel.
