Psychologist Aimee Gannon is woken up
in the middle of the night with the news that one of her
patients is in the hospital and in police custody.
Detective Josh Wolf hopes Dr. Gannon can provide some clues
as to why Taylor Dawkin was found nearly catatonic, covered
in blood and surrounded by the dead bodies of her parents.
The only clue as to what happened is a symbol painted on the
wall – in blood.
Dr. Gannon can’t abandon her patient;
Josh needs her help, not her interference. But even as he
gets exasperated with her intense need to protect Taylor, he
can’t help but be distracted by the instant attraction he
feels for Aimee. As she gets more involved with the case,
her own past begins to interfere, making Josh feel
protective of her as well, as he tries to solve the murders
and keep his feelings for her separate.
Hold Back The Dark is an
action-filled, no-stone-left-unturned romantic thriller.
Multiple story lines come together like a French braid,
combining and twisting into a well-thought out ending.
There are surprises even as some story lines seem to become
clear early. However, that is just as Ms. Carr wants it,
for you to think you know what is going to happen. Instead,
you get a heart-pounding surprise along with a satisfying
romance between the two leads. This is a fun, easy read for
anyone who likes their action with a splash of romance
thrown in. |
