Katarina has just spent five years in
the dungeon for planning a murder. Her sentence was shorter
than it should have been because at the last minute, she
called the hit off. Now, she’s out and trying to rebuild her
life. She hopes a stint on the new Kingdom City reality
show, Real-Life Ways to Catch a King will help her
get back into a normal life. What she doesn’t like,
though, is the way the director is focusing on her past, and
her mistakes.
Katarina takes her concerns to Serge,
the show’s producer. Serge is a bad boy himself; he owns
strip clubs and various other businesses. But now, he wants
to change the way things are, and maybe find himself a wife
and start a family. When he meets Katarina, he’s immediately
attracted. But can this convict give him what he wants?
Bad Apple is set in the
fascinating Perfectly Wicked World created by Anna J. Evans.
This world is so beautifully written that you feel as if you
have been there. Having said that, though, this book was
tough for me. I liked both Katarina and Serge, but a missing
block of time from where they start their relationship, to
the conclusion of the book, made it hard for me to feel the
connection between the two of them. I would have liked to
see more interaction during that time, so I could get a
better feel for them.
I do like this series, though, and have
read and will continue to read them as they come out. I just
wish Bad Apple had been a little longer, and had more
real-time interaction between Katarina and Serge. |
