Closing in on forty, single and
childless, Paige Wood has decided to take matter in her own
hands. Not willing to wait on that special someone she makes
the decision to see a fertility specialist and have a baby on
her own. Vincent Manos is the leader of his Pride, a Jaguar
race of shifters. He is attracted to Paige from first scent,
and the fact that she’s the lone female in a room of gay males
has nothing to do with it. Trying to convince the pint size
beauty that she’s as beautiful as he says she is seems a
daunting task. A task he refuses to fail at since his beast
recognizes Paige as their mate.
As a lover of paranormal books and
especially shifters, there’s not much you can do that will
make me dislike a story. There is something however that gets
my goat every time. Unfortunately Wicked Shift
located my pet peeve from page one. That is an emotional
woman, especially one who seems impossible to please. I
personally understood the heroine’s plight considering we’re
the same age, but every little thing set her off and I could
see why she was still single considering her lack of belief in
her own personal worth. Vincent was a doll considering all the
torture he had to endure while trying to woo his mate. With
that said Wicked Shift still turned out to be a cute little
tale and I loved the fact that Paige’s cats were able to
communicate with their new master. Celia Kyle is a good author
and this story was well written I’m just too in touch with my
male side to enjoy whiny women. |
