Kendra Bettencourt grew up in Canterville, moved away for a time after some mysterious deaths and focused on living. But, now she’s returned to be with her grandmother and the murders have started again. Kendra’s now an Assistant Medical Examiner in the town and she knows the murders taking place are BDSM related. Luke Sloan is a Canterville town police officer. While the two have had to work together in the past, somehow the proximity with each other on these newest cases cause both to feel things they aren’t sure they’re ready for. But nothing prepares them for the wild chase they’ve only just begun to identify, find and catch the killer.

The Dead Speak has a great plotline with lots of action and the sex in it is intense. Luke is one hot police officer. Mix him with Kendra, who’s usually oblivious, and when the sparks fly things get interesting. The Dead Speak is a sit of the edge of your seat kind of book, always waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is a suspense series book, so while the story wraps itself up at the end with a happy for now ending, I’m dying to see where the relationship goes after the case is over with Luke and Kendra. I will be anxiously looking forward to the next book in this series to see what happens in Canterville next.
