Assassin Janey Duvall and Djinn Nicodemus
Marsh are back with even more mayhem and love. Janey is
gearing herself up as the holidays seem to be a busy time for
her business and she also wonders just what Marsh is up to.
Its time for the holidays and while neither Janey nor Marsh
have wanted to celebrate in past years, this year Marsh
decides to give Janey something she never has had – a real
holiday. The Djinn celebration of Birthing is the same time
as the new, Christian celebration of Christmas and Marsh knows
his family house will be jumping. For reasons of his own,
Marsh has skipped appearing for this holiday for the last
several years, but this time he has a good reason for
appearing – introducing Janey to his family and finalizing
their bond.
Life is never boring for Janey and Marsh
and this is no exception. Janey gets a new client who insists
on meeting with her and the mark is a real interesting one for
her – Marsh. Marsh has much to tell Janey about before they
leave and he is struck by the new hit she has agreed to take
on and even more so by whom the client is. Janey meets
Marsh’s wacky family and learns just how he figures into the
Djinn community. Things start to get real interesting and
Janey learns that one of her honorary family members has
disappeared and she can’t go find him. Family gatherings and
relations become close, really close, as the holiday gets
nearer and Marsh must leave Janey with his family while he
goes to get her uncle.
Gifts is the third book in
the Djinn series and this time Janey and Marsh face something
even worse than the worst type of criminal – family. Janey
learns that being the consort and bride of this particular
Djinn is much more than it seems and together they learn that
fate is giving them a very special gift. You would expect a
top assassin and a Djinn to be uncaring in what goes on around
them, but I have never found this to be so with Janey and
Marsh. In Gifts I found out exactly how much
they do love each other and the lengths they both will go to
for the other. Of course there was the violence to go along
with the love and passion, but what else can you expect when
you have a loving consort who is a top assassin and an ages
old Djinn who has finally fallen for a woman and will protect
what’s his. For those following Janey and Marsh and their
courtship, Gifts is a can’t-miss-book because of
everything you will learn. However, if this is your first
Djinn book, I believe you will definitely want to go back and
find the others once you’ve read Gifts. I can’t
wait until the next chapter of Janey and Marsh’s journey as
they head toward their happily ever after. |
