Inga is an orphan, raised by her aunt in a time of darkness in her lands, in which the Black Magi have ruled for many years. The King, Perignon, seized the lands from King Arynn. Now Perignonís best warrior, the dark knight Lord Eldritch, rules the lands with an iron fist. Children born in these lands know that magick of any kind is forbidden. If they break the laws the face the wrath of Lord Eldritch, who hides his face behind a mask because of a disfigurement.

When Ingaís aunt, Saera, dies of a plague, Inga decides that she has had enough. She uses her magick to concoct a brew and cure people of the plague that is killing many citizens. Lord Eldritch senses her magick and throws her into the dungeon at the Kingís Castle.

Though Inga knows that she shouldnít, she reacts to Eldritchís demands on her body, demands that reach into heavy BDSM. After a while, she realizes that she loves him. When he brings a young noble woman, Thelise, in for interrogation he allows Inga to persuade her to talk. When he does this Inga realizes that Eldritch loves Inga, too. When he takes her from the dungeon, and she meets the king, she finds out that things are not exactly what they seem, and that some scars canít be seen on the skin.

This is the second time Iíve read Secrets Revealed by Katrina Strauss, and I enjoyed it as much the second time as I did the first.  The characters are genuine as they discover the light and dark in their lives. The BDSM situations are realistic, and sometimes had me squirming in my seat.

I loved Ingaís reaction to Eldritch. They way they reacted to each other and learned to love fascinated me.  Life in the dungeon is not for the faint of heart, but if you enjoy you fantasy dark, with some interesting twists, you will love Secrets Revealed as much as I did.

This book was previously released by another publisher, and readers who enjoyed it before will love it again. Lovers of dark fantasy who havenít read this series should get in on the ground floor, and then follow Ms. Strauss as she reveals the Eldritch legacy. I know thatís what Iíll be doing.
