Orry has been “jacking in” to the
stream since before he could remember, but now that he
stumbled on to some black data packets everyone is out to
get him. But what will Orry do if he can’t jack in? When
he meets Dar and Cents, Orry thinks they are about to hand
him over to the auths, but what they real want is to rescue
him. Will Orry let them?
Dar and Cents have been living
underground and evading the auths that rule the city and the
virtual world. But when Dar hears of Orry and the trouble
he has gotten into he can’t help but want to rescue the
kid… However, they must somehow deal with the black data
packets that Orry “stole” before the auths capture them.
Slipping the Stream will ensnare you in its
futuristic web from the fist page and keep you hoping while
Orry, Dar and Cents stay one step ahead of the auths that
seek their silence – with death! Dar’s distractions to keep
Cents and Orry from jacking into the stream are sensual
traps that will leave you sweating and reaching for
something cool to drink. Mike Shade has woven a futuristic
tale that will evoke many feelings, good and bad, about the
“advances” of technology and its effect in society. Orry,
Dar and Cents will each capture your attention and
imagination, and when they come together they will burn you
up your screen! Slipping the Stream is a
fantastic read when you are looking for some fiction that
will take you away from the everyday world. |
