Kendall
Bryne was left heartbroken two years ago when the man she
loved, Rory Quinn, cast her aside. She threw herself into
her work as a healer aboard a medivac to help her get
through the pain. Just when she was beginning to think she
had moved past him she was forced to confront him again.
Rory is a wanted thief, who has mocked the laws and the
authority of the Riezell Conclave, Kendall knew the
Guardians would be rough on him if he was ever captured, but
she never expected the badly beaten bloody mess that was
brought to her. Even under the stressful circumstances
Kendall knew that underneath all the pain she felt because
of him, she was still in love with Rory Quinn.
This is
a very good story. Phantom of the Wind is a
very touching story and Charlotte Boyette-Campo did a great
job with the characters as well as this futuristic universe
she created. The love between Kendall and Rory is strong
and very beautiful and I found myself tearing up a few times
while reading it. The chemistry between them is passionate
and extremely hot. Kendall’s memories of the love they
shared before Rory left her, made it clear as to why it was
so hard for her to let go and forget him. And as anguished
as she was over the condition he was in when he was brought
to her medivac, she kept her feelings in check as she worked
to save him. I really admired that. Phantom of the
Wind is a great story and I’m certain anyone who
loves sci-fi and romance will absolutely adore it.
Note:
Phantom of the Wind is a standalone novel, but
it does incorporate many of the characters from WindVerse's
prior novels. |
