Alicia Flint is attending the wedding
of her best friend when her eyes meet those of the gorgeous
jean-clad man across the room. Alicia decides then and
there that he is the man going home with her, and if his
grin is anything to go by, he's agreeable. Since it is only
one night, her reputation is safe, right?
Alicia and Gill Baron indulge
themselves in one night of carnal delights, and when Gill
kisses Alicia goodbye the next morning, she knows that
she'll probably never see him again. That is, until he
walks back into her life less than a week later to a meeting
she had scheduled - accompanied by the sheriff.
N. J. Walters is an automatic read for
me, and as such, I yearned for the release of A Legal
Affair. I loved both characters tremendously and
really thought the storyline of Alicia’s representing an
abused wife noteworthy. But as I finished A Legal
Affair I was upset to realize that the plot was not
tied up, and while the hero and heroine loved each other,
the story was left open. I can only hope there is another
installment to this series so that my issues are resolved.
In my opinion, A Legal Affair is not the best
book N. J. Walters has penned. It often seemed hurried, and
although the love scenes were touching and emotional, the
book just didn’t seem to flow. I will, however, continue to
peruse the Coming Soon pages for future releases, and N. J.
Walters remains one of my favorite authors. |
