Sheriff Carley Matheson may be on track
to getting her dream job as a Texas Ranger but she has hit a
major hurdle. Not only is there a sixteen year old unsolved
murder in her town but it appears the killer has resurfaced
and may have killed someone with information that would solve
this cold case. And along the way Carley has managed to get
shot. While she is recovering she is extremely frustrated to
be sidelined in the investigation. Now Texas Ranger Slone
McKinney has been sent back to town to take over the
investigation. It would be so much easier if Carley wasn’t so
attracted to Slone or Slone to her.
Now the two have decided to join forces
and figure out these murders once and for all. But, someone
is not happy about this team up and will do anything to make
sure they don’t succeed, including trying to murder Carley.
I have to say this story sucked me in from the start. I am a
little miffed that I had to go and buy the next in the series,
before my conscience let me even write this review. I have to
know who the killer is and as Trace Evidence in Tarrant
County is part of a trilogy I will have to wait until
the next book for that answer. I credit Ms. Fossen for
putting together likeable enough characters and dialogue that
I was pulled in and not only wanted to see the main characters
together. But, I wanted them to be successful in their
careers also. Nicely done Ms. Fossen and I hope to read more
from you soon. |
