Working side by side with a man who you
love should be a great thing, but for Tamath Serati-Cole,
Second in Command to Alaan Serati, it’s an exercise of
control. Controlling the feelings she has for a vampire
warrior still pining over his dead mate. Now that Bix, their
lead Seeker, is taking a much needed vacation Tamath and Alaan
have to work hand in hand to dish out punishment to the rogues
who would do harm to their nation of vampires. Alaan is
shocked at the changes in his connection to his toughest
female Seeker, changes that have him fighting his “no bonding
rule,” one that has been in place since he lost his last mate.
Good thing nature won’t be denied because Alaan’s world is
about to be turned upside down when his past comes back to
haunt him.
In Book 2 of the Vampire Council of
Ethics series, we are given a more intimate look at a
couple who garnered my interest in the first story. Both are
headstrong and in a matriarchal society where men can easily
lose control, Alaan holds his own against his best female
warrior. Serati’s Flame is a title indicative of
the combustible encounters Alaan and Tamath have from fussing
and fighting one minute to the tearing off of clothing and
burning up in flames the next. As with its predecessor, T.J.
Michaels adds plenty of humor and enough supporting cast to
make this story one I’m sure fans will enjoy. |
