Awakened by the Spirit Dragon Da’ar Es
Saleem, Cora Phillips realizes that her time away from all
things strange are not over as she had hoped.
Haggard and grim-faced, Salim Aridi had
ceased all contact with Cora but now she has returned with
Da’ar Es Saleem and the nameless White Dragon in tow.
Haunted still by dreams of Greg Cho and
his possible power over her, Cora must make a decision on
who she should trust from Salim to her mother Miranda or her
capricious sister Diane. Cora needs someone on her side,
someone without an agenda of their own.
Vivid imagery and a unique premise
marks Dragon Dance as a welcome addition to
this series. Author Emily Ryan-Davis gives
her characters strength, grit and deep emotion. This is
definitely not a stand-alone story because I felt as if I’d
been dropped in at chapter 8 and scrambled to figure out
what was going on. The complex dynamics between the
characters makes the story worthwhile but I couldn’t
understand the dragon’s purpose without reading the first
story. |
