Thank you
for letting me come and chat with you today.
My
all time favorite T.A. Chase is the Home series from Liquid
Silver Books but you have several series as well as
standalone titles and let's not forget the wildly popular
blog reads. How do you keep it all straight in you head?
The Home
series will always have a special place in my heart since No
Going Home, book one, was my first published book ever. At
times, keeping all the characters racing around my head can
be difficult. I need to have one of those number machines
like they have at butcher shops, so my guys can take a
number and I’ll get to them as quickly as possible, but
really, once I get used to all the voices in my mind, it’s
easy to keep them straight.
When you carve out time to write where do you do it?
I’ll write
anywhere, whenever I have a few minutes of free time at
work, on my lunch hour or waiting for my food at a
restaurant. When I’m at home, I have an office set up. I
get easily distracted at times, so I sit with my back to the
door. That way I’m not tempted to go out and watch TV or
anything like that.
Do
you write to music or do you prefer silence?
Oh
definitely music. When I sit down to write at home, I plug
in my headphones, turn on my iPod and hit shuffle. I need
background noise for my mind to truly focus on the story and
TV tends to distract me, all those bright colors and moving
people…lol.
We
are catching you in the midst of a veritable new release
storm. On December 2, we can expect Bound by Love from
Samhain Publishing and you have releases coming in January
and February as well. Give us the scoop, spare no details.
Bound by
Love is a cowboy story (shocking, I know) with BDSM
elements.
Two cowboys
fall in love. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.
Tyler
Newsome is heading home to the Lazy N, tired of the rodeo
and tired of always being his charismatic twin’s shadow.
It’s time he gets a life of his own—and maybe the man he’s
always dreamed of, too.
Ren
Alston’s always been attracted to Tyler, but never made a
move because of his own mental and emotional baggage. But
after years spent taming his demons and gaining control in
every aspect of his life, Ren sees the younger man’s return
as a sign of good things to come.
But first,
they have to deal with Tyler’s twin, past indiscretions and
Ren’s brothers. Will these cowboys manage to build a strong
foundation of trust and love? Or will their problems be too
much for them?
Warning:
Explicit manlove. Hot naked cowboys, caramel sauce,
spanking, whipping and a new twist on the old fashioned roll
in the hay.
Where the
Devil Dances will be out in January from Liquid Silver Books
as part of their Hearts Afire series. They’re putting out
twelve duets, two short stories, each month. The theme is
firemen and they will be all heat levels and genres. After
the books are out, LSB will be putting out a calendar for
2010 with the covers from each book. My release partner is
the awesome Bonnie Dee.
Scars
aren't always on the outside. Architect Eric Sandel is
living proof. He moves to Morley after surviving a terrible
fire in order to rebuild his life and hopes designing the
new Opera House will help him bury the past.
Firefighter
David Browdie hasn't had time for serious relationships, his
“on call” status tends to leave relationships in the dust.
When he meets Eric at the neighborhood dog park, sparks fly
and he thinks maybe this time, serious will win after all.
But a demon
from Eric's past haunts him. David and Eric must work
together to find a way to stop the mad man before they all
go up in flames.
In
February, the second book in my Love of Sports series will
be out from Samhain. High Line is Garrett Johnson’s story.
He’s the twin brother of Kasey from Out of Bounds, my first
Sports book. Garrett’s hero, CJ Lamont, is dealing with some
upheaval in his life.
Will giving
him the green flag lead to love…or heartache?
CJ Lamont
is at the top of the racing world but his winning record is
based on a carefully constructed lie. His world falls apart
when his ex-wife reveals the truth. As he hits rock bottom,
rescue comes from an unexpected source—Garrett Johnson,
Hollywood’s hottest leading man.
Garrett’s
acting career is taking off, bringing him accolades he’d
never imagined. Good friends and family keep his days
hopping, but watching his twin brother fall in love exposes
the emptiness in Garrett’s life created by the betrayal of
his ex-lover.
Garrett
offers CJ a place to heal and a shoulder to lean on, telling
himself it’s only to keep CJ from taking a more destructive
path. But as time passes, the two men grow closer and CJ
realizes he has a decision to make—whether to rebuild his
fictitious life, or admit to loving a man who shines
brighter than the Hollywood stars.
Will he
reach for the star or sink back into his old life?
Do
you get nervous about new releases?
Yes, I do.
I think I always will, no matter how many books I have out.
There’s always that thought in the back of my mind…what if
the readers don’t like it, especially if it’s a genre or
subject matter I haven’t written before.
Let's go back to the beginning; do you remember where you
were when you got you first contract? Who did you tell
first?
Sure I do.
I was sitting at my computer at home and my first contract
was from Loose-Id for Here Be Dragons. I might have given a
rather undignified shout and did a little jig before going
to tell my partner that I was going to be a published
author.
Who
are you when you're not T.A. Chase the author?
I’m just
ordinary T.A. I love movies, especially action/adventure
ones. The more car chases and explosions in the movie, the
more I’ll like it. I hang out with friends and my partner,
play golf during the summer. I’m pretty mild-mannered in my
every day life. Nothing to give away my obsession with
dessert toppings.
Name one thing that your readers would be surprised to know
about you.
H-m-m-m…that’s
a hard one. I don’t know if this would surprise anyone, but
I only swim in pools. Oceans and seas have things in them
that could eat me, so I tend to avoid going into salt water…lol.
I mean, intellectually, I know that sharks aren’t out there
hunting me, but I won’t give them a chance to take a bite
out of me by accident.
A
recurring theme in a few of your titles is a certain
creativity with dessert toppings. Care to shed some light on
that?
What can I
say? There’s just something utterly sexy about a man covered
with whipped cream, chocolate, caramel or honey. Sweet and
salty is a combination I’m afraid I’m addicted to.
Do
you have a guilty pleasure?
Besides my
addiction to dessert toppings…*vbg*, I don’t know if it’s a
guilty pleasure or not, but I love singing in the car. I’m
sure the people in the other cars get a kick out of me.
Where can readers find you?
