How long have you been writing?
I’ve been
writing since 2004. I submitted my first story to Red Sage
Publishing. Oddly that story is now getting published in one
of their Secrets Volumes, December ’08
Where were you when you got your
first contract?
I sat down
to check my email, it was morning, the hubby was cooking
breakfast. I had my pjs on and I clicked on an email from
one of Samhain’s editors. I read the email three times
before I screamed and jumped up and down. My husband came
running and soon we were hugging and he was congratulating
me. I’ll never forget that moment! It was awesome!
Does music influence your
writing?
If so, do
you have a playlist that goes with each book? I always said
no to this question before. But, I admit that Kid Rock has
played a big part in my latest m/f/m story. LOL He’s a bad
boy and what better song than “All Summer Long” as I write a
hot love scene, right? hehe!
If your books were optioned for a
movie, who would play your characters?
I like
rough, tough types. I always think of actors like Gerard
Butler, Ryan Reynolds...yum, am I right? As for the women,
probably someone like Sandra Bullock, down to earth, smart,
and pretty.
Do you like a neat workspace? Or
are you comfortably disorganized?
I like
things neat. It bugs me if I can’t find the blasted mouse.
However, when I’m in edits everything is a friggin’ wreck. I
don’t bother cleaning until edits are done.
What inspires you to write?
Books that
have no heat. LOL Hey, you asked! If I read a tame romance
it inspires me to write a sizzler. It’s a dirty job, but
somebody’s gotta do it. ;-)
Tell me a little about Burn –
your f/f/m ménage from Samhain coming out in January of
2009.
It’s
wickedly delicious. LOL I have no idea what I was thinking.
Good God! It’s a good thing I’m writing under a pen name!
Here’s a blurb for your entertainment:
Ally
Ryanaldo and Blake Steele were high school sweethearts, in
love and inseparable. Ally always assumed she’d be his wife,
raise his babies and live happily ever after. Those dreams
were shattered the day Blake left her and his small town
life for the bright lights of New York City.
Now, ten
years later, Blake is back—and wants to pick up where they
left off. Ally has other ideas. Naughty ideas. With the help
of her kinky girlfriend, Heather, Ally shows Blake her wild
side.
When her
little plan backfires, though, Ally’s very much afraid she
may lose the only man she’s ever loved—for good.
How long did it take you to write
it?
Hmm, not
sure. I wrote the first draft, but it wasn’t hot enough. So,
I went back and added in a 4,000 word ménage scene. Yep, now
it’s hot enough!
What are your favorite things
about these characters?
The one
thing that I enjoyed is the story is told in first person
point of view. Now, don’t frown! I can see you all frowning!
I realize a lot of readers don’t care for first person, but
this was Ally’s story and she needed to tell it. So, I let
her. Ally is very independent, she’s sure of herself and I
admired that about her. Blake is...sexy, dominant strong,
but a pushover when it comes to Ally. There’s another
character, Heather. She’s pure wicked. Heather nearly stole
the show. I had to use the whip on her a few times. LOL And,
yes, Heather WILL get her own story. And boy is it gonna be
smokin’!
Tell us something about you that
nobody knows…
Hmm, I’m
pretty boring really. Let’s see...I color my hair? No, no,
that’s boring. Let me think of something else. Oh! I got it!
That time I went to Ocean City. A few coolers, a nice warm
breeze off the ocean and...yeah, right, like I’m gonna share
that with the public! pfft!
Thank you so much for doing this
interview!
Thanks for
asking me. This was fun! You guys rock! :)
